BlackPoliticsontheWeb.com: NY Post apologizes - to some - over Obama cartoon

  • Taylor Burton-Edwards · 10 months ago
    Pathetic!

This is no apology at all. It is "Sorry IF we offended SOME of you" not "We regret that we WERE offensive." It is mostly just defensive.

I've not been an opponent of the NY Post in the past. Their incredibly insensitive actions and even less defensible response have led be to consider becoming one.

I have no knowledge of the NY Post"s presentation of information in the past and have had no conflict with them. My concern is the content of the ad which incites racism and violence.
If this is a misrepresntation of their intent, then I would like to know their explanation of the symbolism. The chimp represents ____?___ If there is none, then they need to offer a genuine apology to all. This remains a shameful and negative representation of American Press.

The cartoon has already served its purpose, that purpose would be to cause division in the United States. The half-hearted apology is all that we could expect, considering the source. On the heels of Obama's election the colset racist have come out.It is unfortunate that some of them are people of influence.
Acts like this wiil cause us to become a nation divided by color, not by choice.

What is really disturbing about the cartoon is that it perpetuates the "IDEA", that the solution to nuetralizing the African American President is murder! Symbolic reference to being an Ape is minor concern versus the real message. An apology does nothing to undue the malicious intent.
